Camogie Notes Monday, 13th June

County Board Meeting: County Board meeting tonight Monday 13th June. Minor Board is at 7pm with the County Board meeting at 7.45pm. The draws for the club championships will take place at this meeting. This year's draw will be streamed live by We Are Dublin, our Media Partners.  Those wishing to view these draws live can go to “We Are Dublin” (face book) and like their page and then view the draw as it unfolds. Those missing the live event can watch it later on the We Are Dublin site.

State Examinations: The Dublin Camogie Board wishes all our players and friends who are currently sitting the Junior and Leaving Certificate examinations every success.

Intercounty Scene: Our Premier Juniors and our Seniors are prparing well for the upcoming Liberty Insurance All Ireland Championships. Pencil in these dates for your attendance – Premier Juniors travel to Armagh on Sunday 19th June while the Seniors travel to Kilkenny on Saturday 25th June.

Under 14 Academy (under 13s) trip to Cork for James Hurley Blitz: Well done to the 75 Travelling U14 Academy players (under 13s) who travelled to Doneraile, Co. Cork recently for the James Hurley Blitz. They represented Dublin Camogie admirably.

Under 14 Development Squad: Three under14 Development Squad teams participated in the 17th Annual James Hurley blitz in Mallow on 4th June. All three teams acquitted themselves well. As the squad continue to develop they hope to travel to Kilkenny on June 25th to play some games there and to support the Senior team in their championship game. They will participate in the Paul Beecher Dublin Blitz in Portmarnock on July 9th. 

Under 15 Development Squad: Well done to the under 15 Development Squad who played Antrim in Lucan Sarsfields on Sunday in what was a very competitive match with both sides displaying great Skill. 

Go Games: Well done to all our young players are taking part in and enjoying the Go Games Blitzes. Our thanks to all the hosting clubs who made these Cluster Blitzes so enjoyable and successful. Mol an Óige!

Rising Stars Camogie Camp: This 3 day Summer Camp for 8-12 year olds will take place again this year. Venue: GAA Centre of Excellence, Abbotstown. Date: 25th—27th July Time: 10-1pm Cost: €30 Contact Eve Talbot at 085-1128669 or at eve.talbot@Camogie.ie

Juvenile "Summer Cup":  The County Board’s Juvenile “Summer Cup” competitions are being run by Paddy Baker (Good Counsel) during the month of July and the first couple of weeks in Aug. Clubs wishing to take part should contact  Paddy Baker at patrickbaker94@hotmail.com or 085 1403794 before Friday 24th June.

Adult Summer Cup: The County Board is running Adult "7 a side" competitions during the months of July and early Aug.  These competitions are for Club Players only with the emphasis on participation. Closing date for entries to An Rúnaí is Friday 24th June. Full details on our website.

Minor Trials:  Minor trials will take place after the exams have concluded, around the 3rd week in June.  Further details will issue on this subject in due course. Keep an eye on the website.

Official Opening of Dressingrooms in Phoenix Park: The official opening of the camogie dressing rooms in the Phoenix Park will take place on Sunday 26 June. This will be an action packed day of celebration. The action will also include the serious business of the Liberty Insurance All Ireland Premier Junior Championship match v Kerry. Camogie’s Championship Season ticket: Great value at €40 which allows access to all the Liberty Insurance championship games including the triple header All Irelands in Croke Park on Sunday 11 September. Check www.camogie.ie for full details.
