Camogie Notes Monday 3rd October

We are Dublin club championship Senior 1, 2 and 3 finals:  The Senior 1, 2 and 3 finals take place this Sunday, 9th October, at the GAA National Games Development Centre at Abbotstown. Please note slight changes to starting times of these games. 12.00 noon Senior 2 Final Skerries Harps v Naomh Jude, 13.45  Senior 3 Final Kilmacud Crokes v Faughs-Celtic and 15.30  Senior 1 Final Lucan Sarsfield v Naomh Uinsionn. Your co-operation is also requested around entry to these finals and the sale of programmes.

We are Dublin club championship Senior 4 and 5 finals:  Sunday 16th October – Senior 4 Cuala v Naomh Padraig; Senior 5 Whitehall Colmcilles v Cumann Baire Chaoimhín. Venues and times TBC.

We are Dublin club championship Senior 6, 7A and 7B finals:  Senior 6, 7A and 7B are currently at the concluding stages with the finals scheduled for Sunday 30th October. Venues and times for all championships TBC.

Juvenile championships: Juvenile championships are at the concluding stages with the finals scheduled for Saturday and Sunday 22nd and 23rd October. Venues and times TBC. What a busy weekend of juvenile activity in October! Checkwww.dublincamogie.ie for all juvenile championship details.

Minor championships: Clubs are invited to take part in this year's Minor championships. Applications are now being accepted for our Minor championships.  We will run an A B & C championships with possibly a D competition, depending on numbers entering. These competitions will commence around 15/16th Oct and finish around the middle of November. Clubs who wish to enter the Minor championships and haven’t yet done so should contact An Rúnaí not later than 8pm this Wednesday. Gradings etc. for this competition will be sorted on Friday evening.

Under 12 school of Excellence: Well done to all involved with the U-12 School of Excellence which concluded on Friday at DCU Centre of Excellence, Moibhe Road. Although that was the last session, it is intended to bring all the girls back after the championships have finished.  Details of this will issue in due course. The County Board would like to thank most sincerely all the mentors and helpers for their contribution over the last 5 weeks with this group of 150 plus girls. 

Shinty trip to Scotland: Best of luck to the group of Dublin Camogie players and management who have been invited to travel to Scotland to play Scotland in a Shinty/Camogie tournament in Inverness. The trip takes place Friday to Sunday 21st-23rd October. As part of this three year arrangement Shinty Scotland will come to Dublin next year and in 2018 Dublin Camogie will again visit Scotland.

All Ireland Senior Football Champions 2016: Congratulations to the Dublin players and management on their magnificent nail biting win on Saturday, keeping Sam in the capital.

The Camogie All-Stars Awards 2016 sponsored by Liberty Insurance will take place on Saturday November 5th in the Citywest Hotel, Dublin.
