

Dublin u16s got their championship off to a great start this afternoon with a 3-16 to 0-4 win against Offaly on a windy afternoon in Parnells GAA Club. Ashling O'Neill opened the scoring with a point from play in the opening minutes and strong defensive work from Claire Gannon and Niamh Crowley together with goals from Éile O'Ceallaigh and Ellie Young saw Dublin lead at half time 2-08 to 0-0. After the break Dublin continued to dominate with strong fielding from Lauren Dawson Phoebe Shannon and Ellie O'Connor. Further points from play from Ellie Young, Ashling O'Neill and Ashling Gannon, a goal from Emma Diamond and fine footwork from Robyn Buckley to keep the ball in play after losing her hurl saw Dublin finish the match having just conceded 4 points to a hard working Offaly team. Next up for the girls is a match v Kilkenny in 2 weeks time.
