Dublin started this game very well but by half time were in arrears 1-12 to 0-2 - a score which does not reflect the Dublin girls' efforts and determination. The Dublin players did pick it up in the second half with a much improved performance. Unfortunately they were unable to convert the many chances that came their way. Final score Galway 2-18 Dublin 0-6.
There is great determination, honesty and no little skill in evidence among this group of players many of whom are new to the challenges of Senior Intercounty Championship. The intensity and pace of senior championship is a big step up for many of the new and younger players. But the positive approach of management, the great team spirit and the willingness of succeed will stand to them as they travel to Clare next Saturday for the penultimate game of this year's championship series.
